Number of years teaching: Does teaching my kids count? I taught for one year after college, then took 20 years off to mostly be mom, with some volunteer teaching and other jobs sandwiched in there! I have been teaching for approximately 10 years total.
Education: Bachelors in elementary education from Union College , 1980; Masters in leadership from Andrews University , 2004.
Family information: I have been married to the same wonderful man for 26 years! We have four children: Allison, 24 (married in 2004), Patrick, 21, Kenny, 16, and Aubriann, 13. We live on 180 acres just 5 miles from a Colville, WA, a town of 5,000 located in the northeastern corner of Washington State .
Hobbies/interests: When I'm not working for AE21, I enjoy photography, woodworking, reading, music, landscaping, sewing, baking, designing houses (our own future home), and building.
Your favorite things about AE21 are: I love the flexibility we are given in AE21 to make our assignments RELEVANT to life and to the real world. Teaching students to THINK and PROBLEM SOLVE – two things we do very well in AE21 – will enable them to succeed wherever they go in life. Integrating technology into the curriculum is another fun challenge in AE21. Getting to know my students through camera sessions, IM chats, and trips is an exciting thing about AE21 as well.
